Day Trips: Professional Sports

With the National Basketball Association's Portland Trail Blazers playing just across the Columbia River, Clark County residents, like their Oregon neighbors, succumb to "Blazermania" every professional basketball season. The Blazers' beautiful Rose Garden Arena also hosts collegiate and minor-league sports events and nationally known entertainers. Clark County sports fans can cross the river to enjoy Winter Hawks hockey, the Portland Beavers AAA baseball, Timbers soccer, and Lumberjax lacrosse.

All of these venues are in the downtown Portland area, less than a half hour from downtown Vancouver by car and easily accessible via the Portland light rail system from the Park & Ride lot just two minutes south of the Columbia River.
