Day Trips: Seaside on the Oregon Coast

If the Columbia River and the Cascade Mountains weren't enough of a bonus for living in Clark County, there's the Pacific Ocean. Oregon towns of Cannon Beach with its iconic Haystack Rock, and Seaside offer the beaches themselves and an array of entertainment, shopping, arts and dining opportunities. Farther south on the Oregon Coast but still a doable one-day outing are bustling Lincoln City, and Depoe Bay, the "whale watching capital of the Oregon Coast." On the southern Washington Coast, Long Beach has good restaurants and fun attractions including miles and miles of unbroken beach, and Cape Disappointment, with its breathtaking views of the Columbia meeting the Pacific.
