West Vancouver
West Vancouver, home of the city's oldest neighborhoods, is well-kempt, pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly and politically liberal. Street after leafy street of west side homes, dating to the 1920s, '30s and '40s, are within walking distance of Main Street shops, schools and the popular Farmers Market-Esther Short Park area. Farther north, outside of the city limits, are Hazel Dell, with its mixture of single-family homes and apartments, and the newer residential subdivisions of Salmon Creek and Felida.
