While Clark County has much to offer as a place to live, work and learn, it is also centrally located for endless enrichment and entertainment day trips.
Within a three-hour drive—much closer in most cases—are attractions as varied as the Seattle Museum of Flight, the incomparable, 8,700-acre Oregon Garden near Silverton, and the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport.
Closer to home, in Portland, there's plenty to attract day-trippers in search of arts and culture, including unusual shopping districts, more specialty gardens, the Oregon Zoo, big-name professional entertainers, live theater and intimate music venues, from bluegrass to the blues. The museums can easily occupy a single adult or a family for hours. They include the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry or OMSI (click photo at left), and the Oregon Historical Museum. Or, how about other museums such as the Police Museum, the Hat Museum or the Children's Museum?
